ABC’s of Miami
Creating inclusive educational experiences through community-sourced design
In collaboration with O, Miami, a non-profit dedicated to spreading poetry throughout the city—I designed The ABC's of Miami, a bilingual picture book that demonstrates my commitment to inclusive, accessible design practices rooted in authentic community input. Rather than imposing my own perspective, I sourced the featured landmarks directly from my local creative community, ensuring the content genuinely reflected the places that mattered most to Miami's diverse voices. This wasn't just illustration work; it was strategic cultural storytelling that celebrated Miami's identity through thoughtful visual language spanning A to Ñ to Z, with every location validated by the people who call this city home. By creating educational content that honors both English and Spanish-speaking communities while centering community wisdom, I showed how design can build bridges rather than barriers, inviting multigenerational audiences to connect with their city's past, present, and future.
